State Accountability Ratings Released! See How Our Schools Performed

The Texas Education Agency released the 2018-19 accountability ratings for school districts across the state Aug. 15. Conroe ISD received a B for its work during the 2018-19 school year with its 62,577 students and 59 campuses. Of those 59 schools, our 5 local campuses were amongst some of the highest scores. Congratulations to our young residents on their success!

Birnham Woods Elementary: Met Standard 90/100

We are very proud of our on-site elementary school for their overall rating of 90/100! Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 91/100 for student achievement, 85/100 for school progress and 89/100 for closing the gaps. Not only did Birnham Woods achieve a high overall rating, they also earned a distinction designations, for performing exceptionally well in the category of Academic Achievement.

Bradley Elementary: Met Standard 88/100

Bradley Elementary received an overall rating of 88/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 82/100 for student achievement, 88/100 for school progress and 89/100 for closing the gaps. Bradley Elementary also earned not one but TWO distinction designations, for performing exceptionally well in the categories of Academic Growth and Closing the Gaps.

Clark Intermediate: Met Standard 93/100

The newly opened Clark Intermediate received an impressive overall rating of 93/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 93/100 for student achievement, 88/100 for school progress and 92/100 for closing the gaps. Clark Intermediate also received THREE distinction designations, for performing exceptionally well in the categories of Science, English Language Arts/Reading and Post Second Readiness.

York Junior High: Met Standard 93/100

York Junior High also received an impressive overall rating of 93/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 92/100 for student achievement, 88/100 for school progress and 94/100 for closing the gaps.

Grand Oaks High School: Met Standard 90/100

The newly opened Grand Oaks High School received an overall rating of 90/100. Schools earn a Met Standard rating for acceptable performance when they serve many students well. The overall grade is based on performance in three different areas, 91/100 for student achievement, 78/100 for school progress and 89/100 for closing the gaps. Grand Oaks High School also received TWO distinction designations, for performing exceptionally well in the categories of English Language Arts/Reading and Comparative Closing the Gaps.

Overall grades for schools are calculated based on performance in three key areas. TEA takes the higher score between how much students know and can do (Student Achievement) or how much better students are doing than last year or than peers in similar schools (School Progress). They then consider whether performance gaps exist among different groups of students (Closing the Gaps).
