Thinking about buying a home in Spring/The Woodlands? The Falls is conveniently located close to the Grand Parkway, Interstate 45 and The Woodlands Town Center. And new improvements in the area have paved the way for even better access! This include installation of new, synchronized traffic lights and additional traffic lights at neighborhood entrances, new street signage, improved drainage and a raised median to make left turns safer for motorists.
And now one of the biggest projects of the year is wrapping up with the the $53 million widening of Rayford Road. Here’s an update on the progress of these roadway improvements — according to a recent article by Community Impact.
Rayford Road has been expanded from four to six lanes between Lazy Lane and the Grand Parkway. The project includes constructing a six-lane bridge over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks, installing new traffic signals and adding a raised median. The contractor had poured four lanes for the railroad bridge as of mid-November, with two lanes remaining to complete, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials.
As Rayford Road is inching closer to the finish line with completion of the project expected by the end of 2019, the widening of Birnham Woods was recently completed this year as well. This eastside project worked on widening the road to four lanes from just north of Fuller Bluff to north of Elan Boulevard, adding two northbound lanes, including a bridge over the channel and traffic signals at Legends Run and Elan Boulevard.
