Aldi Grocery Store
The global grocery chain Aldi celebrated the grand opening of its newest market in Spring with a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 14 The new Spring location was launched as part of Aldi's $3.4 billion expansion initiative, which will bring the chain's nationwide store count to 2,500 by late 2022, up from its existing 1,900 U.S. stores. Aldi sells a wide variety of exclusive and branded grocery items in addition to other products, such as home goods and clothing. Aldi also offers online grocery delivery through Instacart
Hot Spot Southern-style Soul Food
Despite being a relatively new addition to Rayford Road by opening Aug. 31, Hot Spot owners Angela and Chad Woods have more than five years of experience serving Southern-style soul food around north Houston and The Woodlands area from a food truck. While Hot Spot has a set menu, the Woods said they will add seasonal items when it makes sense, such as crawfish, chili and fried turkey.
Kids Castle Playcare
Kids Castle Playcare, a new drop-in childcare center located at 6922 W. Rayford Road, Ste. 200, Spring, is expecting to open its doors by mid-November. Following a one-time registration, children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old can be dropped off at Kids Castle for both scheduled or unplanned activity-focused stays on an hourly basis. The facility will feature sports, crafts, video games and themed events daily, and seasonal camps will also be offered.
Construction on a medical plaza at 2306 Rayford Road, Spring, is progressing, with the 20,000-square-foot structure anticipated for an early 2020 opening, according to developer Oldham Goodwin Group. The plaza is set to have co-tenants Urgent Care and ENT.
Memorial Hermann Expansion
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center will soon begin a $250.6 million expansion project centered around a new patient tower, the hospital announced Nov. 8. The new eight-story, 332,000-square-foot tower will be built on the south side of the medical center, which is located at 9250 Pinecroft Drive in Shenandoah. The tower is expected to open in early 2022, and it will serve as the hospital’s new main entrance off Medical Plaza Drive complete with registration, waiting and observation areas, according to a news release.
Shoppers at Market Street will be able to experience the spa Bluemercury, located at 9595 Six Pines Drive, The Woodlands, during its grand opening Nov. 16. Bluemercury offers a full menu of spa treatments, including oxygen facials, glycolic peels, waxing and microdermabrasion. The spa also carries brands such as Hourglass, Trish McEvoy, Lune+Aster, NARS, M-61 Skincare, Revive, Moroccan Oil and Oribe.
